After 10 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and 26 years in law enforcement (the last 17 as chief of police) Ron has become a leading authority on the role of leadership and communications in our daily decisions. Ron has a master's degree in criminal justice, and is author of two books: Stopping The School Shooter, and The Law Enforcement Guide to Firearms Law.
In addition to various leadership roles in law enforcement, Ron has held leadership positions on state and national firearm committees dealing with gun violence in our society. He has also served as chairman of the Massachusetts Gun Control Advisory Board for more than a decade. In addition, Ron currently serves as President of the Municipal Police Institute (the non-profit training affiliate of the Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association).
In 2004, Ron founded Glidden Training & Consulting. Over the years, he has trained thousands of police officers in Massachusetts alone. Today, Ron speaks to both law enforcement officers and business leaders from Maine to Florida on various leadership topics all with a central theme: the role of sound leadership principles (regardless of rank or job title) combined with effective communication skills is essential to the success of any organization.
