National Award Goes to NSA New England
In February 2005, the National Speakers’ Association awarded NSA New England the TOP GUN award for its “Daring Leadership by an Individual or a Chapter.

Chapter Member of the Year

The Chapter Member of the Year is recognized in the chapter and nationally at the Annual Convention and in Professional Speaker magazine. The person selected as Chapter Member of the Year must have been a member in good standing of NSA and NSA New England for one continuous year prior to nomination. The person must have chaired a committee or project or made a significant contribution to the success of the chapter in the year preceding nomination. The Chapter Member of the Year is usually not an officer of the chapter, unless that person is most deserving of the award. The President chooses the Chapter Member of the Year.

Charlene Shea Award

The Charlene Shea Award is named after NSA New England’s visionary founder. Charlene Shea, through her energy and tireless efforts, ignited the flame of professional speaking that burns so brightly in New England today. The award is given annually to members who exemplify her leadership and commitment. The NSA New England President chooses the member to be honored.

Board Member of the Year Award

The NSA New England Board of Directors is a working board of volunteers who have made a commitment to chapter success and membership value. In 2007 the Board Member of the Year Award was initiated. This person is chosen by his/her fellow board members in recognition of their contribution to grow and strenghten NSA New England.

Helping Hands Award

The Helping Hands Award was initiated in 1988. It is given to the member or members who give freely to the chapter behind the scenes to help others succeed. The NSA New England President may elect to give this award any number of times during the year.

Chapter Meeting Partner of the Year

Chapter Meeting Partner of the Year goes to a vendor who is more than a vendor to our speaking community. They are a partner. Speakers rely on other businesses to make their businesses run. Partners could include hotels, bureaus, or any other vendor.

Dave Fitzgerald Spirit Award 

Dave Fitzgerald was a comedian, humorist, author and one of the funniest people on the planet. He was also a past board member and member of NSA New England. As his business began to soar, he donated a scholarship to help a member attend the National Conference to give back for all he had learned from NSA. Sadly, Dave passed away, but his memory and legacy lives on as we honor a chapter member who emulates Dave’s humor, spirit and generousity.
